Ughhhhhhh I did not know this. I thought that tonic water was like seltzer water and was the healthy choice for a night out! My go to alcoholic out for a messy night drink is usually rum and diet coke. Welllll since I have given up soda (again) I am unable to drink that. I needed to come up with a new drink of choice that would do it's job, but save the calories. For some reason I got vodka/water, vodka/club and vodka/tonic all mixed up and thought they were all pretty much the same thing. I ordered vodka/tonic with lime. All.night.long. ughhhh so many calories and sugars in that!
Here is the damage...
Now...this is if I had 7. I think I had 7. But I'm not 100%. Ugh...so many calories, doesn't even include the vodka!! |
Ughhh. So now the next qusetions is....since I gave up soda....does this count as drinking soda? Do I have to restart my streaks?
Currently at 21 days, longest is 49! |
Oh well...you make a mistake, you learn from it and you don't do it again!
:)
hmm I wouldn't break your streak because you really didn't know! Lesson learned, I didn't know that either.
ReplyDeleteI like this answer lol. :)
DeleteConsidering tonic water is basically club soda with sugar, I'd count it as soda. If it wasn't carbonated I wouldn't. Sorry. =(
ReplyDeletedamnit. i wondered why my drink tasted so yum....
DeleteFrom the great wikipedia:
ReplyDelete"Tonic water (or Indian tonic water) is a carbonated soft drink, in which quinine is dissolved. Originally used as a prophylactic against malaria, tonic water usually now has a significantly lower quinine content and is consumed for its distinctive bitter taste. It is often used in mixed drinks, particularly in gin and tonic."

unfortunately, I think it is soda :(
damnittttttt. part of me doesnt want to start over because i didn't know.....but....that would be cheating :(
DeleteThe important thing is you are trying. But just think- if you do start over once you hit that longest streak again it will feel THAT much better!!
DeleteWhat about slimline tonic, that has 0 kcal and tastes just as good. (okay its technically soda, but i won't tell if you don't)

In the future, you can buy diet tonic, but most bars don't have it.
