So this is my month of August. I have to say that it is better than doing nothing, but still...it's on a downward slope! Haha..I must improve next week! I have only worked out twice this week and hopefully I can get at least one more in by the end of the week. I've just been busy, I know that's no excuse. So...the two workouts I DID do...were at least really good! I felt like I was working hard and not half assing them. So here we go.
Monday I couldn't go to the gym because I had to go into Philly to meet up with some friends that are visiting the US from Ireland! It was a lot of fun so no regrets there. Tuesday I went to the Body Works class and it was killer, as usual. A lot of wall sits, box jumps, pushups, suicides, weight lifting and burpees. I love this class because it kicks my ass and I love that feeling. I hate it while I'm doing it, but afterwards I feel amazing!! This class is always a guaranteed 500+ calorie burn. Love it!

Wednesdays are always zumba with my trainer. I love her zumba, it's so much fun. I used to stay for double classes but I haven't in a long time! I want to start doing that again...maybe soon. Anyways, since I knew I wasn't doing double I wanted to at least do an awesome zumba workout. I pushed myself hard and was able to get to 500 calories. Trish played my favorite songs and whenever I hear them I just put so much more into it. I really love zumba because I love dancing! It's a lot of fun. A fun workout is always a win for me!
Wednesday's Workout |
So those are my only workouts for the week. Kinda a fail. I always say that next week will be better and I hope it is! I will get my motivation/obsession back. Until then I just have to keep plugging along. I know I will never give up so going through a rough patch won't derail me. My food intake has been pretty good. I eat the same crap all the time so I know it's healthy and on point.
I am looking forward to the long weekend this weekend. I want to fit in some fitness whenever possible. I always have a better week when I workout on the weekends and make time for food prepping. That is my goal over Labor Day weekend!!!
Losing your motivation is a really bad feeling, but you have a great attitude! I also love Zumba, and can't wait to start it up again in 2 weeks. (My class takes the summers off because the building we use isn't air conditioned, and we'd all die.)
ReplyDeleteKeep going strong!
Thank you!!! Isn't zumba amazing?!? Enjoy it when your classes start up again!! :)
DeleteI've never officially tried Zumba ... I put in a DVD once and it was just over my head (and my body did't really cooperate either). I'm really a solo exerciser, I've never done any type of class or anything.
ReplyDeleteIs that an App you use to track your workouts? It looks cute ...
Zumba is so much fun! I'm not going to lie, it will probably take a few classes to "get the hang of it" but once you do...you would fall in love! In the end, as long as you're moving and having fun, it will be a great workout!
DeleteThe app I used to track my workouts is called streaks! It's awesome! :)
I now have the app ... and it's my post for today. I did reference your blog too.

You are my inspiration and I'm going to tell you why right now. Because this is the hardest journey anyone can ever imagine. People who don't live it can't even imagine what it is really like. A constant battle with ourselves to want to live a life and yet knowing that we should go to the gym, knowing we should eat better and honestly wanting to do those things but having life constantly get in the way. It is way easier to do these things when you have all the motivation/determination in the world. Honestly its easy to stay on a roll and keep your momentum when you are losing weight and killing it. Everyone would lose all the weight they wanted and keep it off forever if they consistently felt that level of motivation. That is child's play. Why you are my inspiration day in day out is because you are real. You struggle. You have off week's/off month's but you don't give up. Sure, it could have been better. It can always be better. Even I can do better. What really matters/counts is the fact that you keep going.
ReplyDeleteDespite your lack of motivation, do you see that August calendar up there? Do you see that it has x's on 16 days? You have gone to the gym 16 times.... that is nothing to be sad about. You have gone more than most people ever do. That is the truth. It's really easy to do this when everything is going perfect. It's a real rockstar and my kind of hero to do this when things aren't always going your way. I respect and admire that so much.
When progress doesn't come as easy, when you have to force yourself to the gym, those are the times that prove what a champion at heart you are. Those are the time that define your character. Motivation and weight loss come and go. I know this first hand. Your underlying attitude stays with you forever. It can always be better, but Julie, it can always be worse. Be proud of all of those workouts you DID do. I guarantee there is someone out there right now wishing and praying that they were capable of exactly the effort you have put forth this month!
Big hugs!!!!
I have read and reread this comment about 10xs so far. This has got to be the nicest and most encouraging thing anything has EVER said to me. It means SO much to me to hear your encouraging words. When I want to throw myself a pity party I really need to remind myself that it could always be worse. You are 100% right. Thank you for being SO damn amazing. You are MY inspiration and I can't wait to someday tell you that in person!!!!!!! xoxoxoxoxoxoxo
DeleteYou did great, and sure we can always do better, but don't beat yourself up..you have done and accomplished SO MUCH. I LOVE reading your blogs and following you along. you dust yourself right off missy and keep at it!!
ReplyDeleteAs for the food, i know we had talked about this before..And your food is on point, healthy. But Maybe it is time to lower the AMOUNT you are eating. Since joining MFP i have learned SO MUCH from just reading other peoples progress/journies and stories. Do you know how many calories you are getting in a day? Are you going over? Try knocking 150 off and see what happens. its tough. but it seems now your body is maintaining at its current weight with the amount/types of foods you are eating. it is time to change it up is my guess. That is all. NBD!!
You rock as always!!! Keep up the hard work and you are BEAUTIFUL!!! :)
I SO need to cut down the amount that I'm eating! I need to keep telling myself that just because it's a healthy choice that does NOT mean I can eat 3 servigs! AHHH I need to be better with that for sure.
DeleteThank you love! You are too sweet! xoxoxo
I so meant to say actually try to INCREASE your calories. Sometimes eating a littl emore helps you lose weight , less carbs more protiens. You will find what works for you i know you will!!
